Description
- Development of an extension to the existing Kestrel Mine to the west of the existing operations to extract metallurgical coal from the German Creek Seam via longwall mining techniques.
- The Project will be a direct continuation of the existing mine, utilising the same type of mining approach and equipment.
- Potential expansion of the Co-Disposal Area at the existing Coal Handling and Preparation Plant.
- Operation within a project area of approximately 5,644 hectares.
- Extraction of up to 11 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of run-of-mine (ROM) coal over an approximate 20-year mine life.
- Transportation of ROM coal to the existing Kestrel Mine processing facility via an 8 km overland conveyor system.

- Final TOR issued—EIS in preparation
- Public notification
- Proponent responds to submissions
- EIS assessment report
The final TOR for the EIS has been issued and the proponent is preparing the EIS.
